Marmalade, therapy dog, and her trainer/humane educator Stephanie Peters will continue to "drop by" Student Counseling Service in spring 2017! Marmalade is a 3 year old shih-tzu and poodle mix. She has earned the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine obedience titles and is a certified therapy dog with the TheraPets program of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. We are excited to partner with Stephanie and Marmalade to offer drop-in dog visitation hours at SCS!
“Drop-In Therapy Dog Visitation”
Having a stressful week? Need some time to relax and soothe a frazzled brain or an aching heart? Petting a therapy dog is the perfect way to add a little calm and comfort to your busy day. Therapy dog visitation has been shown to reduce blood pressure, lower anxiety levels, and stimulate the release of endorphins, which help people feel good! Stop by Student Counseling Service to snuggle with Marmalade, feed her tasty treats, and laugh as she performs adorable tricks.
Location: SCS Mind-Body Center
